1.    HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN CROSSFITTING

I have been doing Crossfit for about 8 months.

2.    WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WOD OR MOVEMENT AND  WHY

My favorite movement are the back squats.  The feeling of squatting heavy weights makes me feel stronger.

3.    WHAT IS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE WOD OR MOVEMENT AND WHY

I can’t think about a WOD or movement I didn’t like.  Each one brings a challenge every time which I enjoy.

4.    HOW DID YOU GET INTO CROSSFIT

I’ll try to make the story short, I was not happy with my weight of 274 lbs. and with my health.  Going up stairs was a challenge, I FullSizeRenderwould always be out of breath.  I decided I needed a change and searched the internet for something other than a traditional gym.  That is when I came across CrossFit Breed. As I navigated the site I realized I knew the coach, who happened to be my childhood friend.  I saw it as a sign for the change that I was desperately seeking.  I gave Coach Hutch a call to see if he could help me.  Coach Hutch said “Yes, come down to the box.  We will change your life!”

5.    WHAT FITNESS PROGRAM  WERE YOU DOING BEFORE CROSSFIT AND HOW DO THEY DIFFER

I was a member of a local gym but my motivation to get to the gym was not there!  It was a waste of money!  Crossfit is different each and every single day which I enjoy.  Also, I look forward to working at the box with my fellow Crossfitters.

6.    HOW HAVE YOU CHANGED SINCE JOINING CF BREED

Oh man, I am much more confident and stronger.  I feel like a kid again, I’ve always been athletic and participated in baseball and football.  I couldn’t wait to play and that’s how I feel with Crossfit.  As for my health, I am trying to make better decisions with the food that I eat.  I have lost over 50 lbs.  I know how I felt before joining Crossfit Breed and I do not want to go back!

7.    WHAT ADVICE CAN YOU GIVE TO NEW COMERS TO CROSSFIT

Don’t be intimidated, everyone works at their own pace.  Be patient and have confidence in yourself.  Give yourself a chance to become healthier and fit. DON’T GIVE UP!

8.    WHY DO YOU LIKE TRAINING AT CROSSFIT BREED

I love the atmosphere plus the support from the coaches and the fellow Crossfitters at Crossfit Breed.

9.    DO YOU PLAY ANY SPORTS? WHICH?

Yes, I play baseball and football.

10.  WHAT ARE YOUR FITNESS GOALS FOR 2016?

I want to continue losing weight and doing everything Crossfit Breed has to offer.  Hopefully get back on the baseball and football field.

Justine Brown aka “Bad A$$”

NAME: Justine Browngainz_enpowerment_hi_contrast[1]
BIRTHPLACE: Long Island, NY
BIRTHDAY: 6/2/81
OCCUPATION: Art Therapist

1. FOR HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN CROSSFITTING:
I started Crossfit briefly over two years ago; Due to a difficult pregnancy, I had stopped. I began going to Crossfit Breed a year ago but have been really consistent the last seven months

2. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WOD OR MOVEMENT AND WHY
I really like to do Clean and Jerks. Whenever they are a part of the daily workout, I get super pumped. I like this movement because it makes me feel like a bad a$$ and I feel like I do it well.

3. WHAT IS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE WOD OR MOVEMENT AND WHY
I hate running. It takes me longer to recover from running around the block then it does after a WOD. I hate it because it makes my body hurt and reduces me to tears. Oh and wall balls. They are awful, and really good at making me feel like a puddle on the floor.

JB14. HOW DID YOU GET INTO CROSSFIT
I got into Crossfit about 2.5 years ago, I was intrigued by the community aspect, and how there were just as many ladies as men working their butts off. Once I did my first workout, I was hooked. I had never challenged myself to that level.

5. WHAT FITNESS PROGRAM WERE YOU DOING BEFORE CROSSFIT AND HOW DO THEY DIFFER
I literally never worked out till my late 20’s. I dabbled in DVD workouts, and never felt that same drive as I do when I workout with other people. I would go to a box gym and mess around with an elliptical and free weights. I was familiar with squats and deadlifting before Crossfit but I never felt excited about doing them. (I probably was not even doing them properly). Crossfit does more than give you a workout- It teaches you about your body and how it works.

6. HOW HAVE YOU CHANGED SINCE JOINING CF BREED
I have begun really challenging myself since joining CF Breed. I have taken risks and changed my perspective on things. When I get up at 5am, or get my butt at the box after a long day at work so I can get a workout in, I am investing in myself, in my overall health and that is not something I prioritized before. I allowed myself the opportunity to join in nutrition challenges, workout competitions, (Woohoo! Yum Delicious Gangstars!). I come in on my own to work on my squats (I am getting better!). Being strong and healthy is important to me, especially since my son Quinn was born. I know when I work hard and set goals, it makes me a better mother and a better partner to my husband Scott. I am proud of the example I am setting for Quinn.
At CF breed, I really learned that despite what I may think…. I can do it!
Oh…. And I got stronger!!!!

7. WHAT ADVICE CAN YOU GIVE TO NEW COMERS TO CROSSFITJB2
Show up. That is the hardest part.
Introduce yourself to the other people at the box, they are all awesome.
Drink water and stretch!

8. WHY DO YOU LIKE TRAINING AT CROSSFIT BREED
Well…… I do like the cheering as people walk through the door! There is something magical that happens when people shout your name as you come in. I love CF Breed because I feel myself growing there. I am surrounded by people who are striving to be the best versions of themselves, inside and outside of the gym. I am supported in my goals, I am challenged by coaches and other members, I feel that CF Breed is the most supportive atmosphere I have ever worked out in.

9. DO YOU PLAY ANY SPORTS? WHICH?
Air hockey and claw machines. That is the extent of my regular sports activity. I played softball and basketball when I was younger. I am really great at chasing my 15 month old son Quinn around, and I am going to count that as a sport. #chasing toddlers

10. WHAT ARE YOUR FITNESS GOALS FOR 2016?
I want to do a perfect pushup and I want to solidly squat 1X my body weight. Be more Bad A$$! I would also like to perfect the “squirmy toddler carry” while going up a flight of stairs.

  1. FOR HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN CROSSFITTING

I’ve been Crossfitting for 6 months now.

  1. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WOD OR MOVEMENT AND WHY

Although I do enjoy all WODs because they work out every part of the body, I would have to say Cindy because it is the type of workout that consists of calisthenics.  You are pushing yourself consistently and know that you have to max out and have to give it your all and not give in.

  1. WHAT IS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE WOD OR MOVEMENT AND WHY

I would say that the most challenging movement for me is the deadlift.  The deadlift is a type of workout that requires good form.  I’m very well aware that I have to work on my form because of some weakness in my lower back. Slowly but surely I am strengthening my lower back muscles in order to master the deadlift.

  1. HOW DID YOU GET INTO CROSSFIT11029931_1074433615902373_3189012516060932712_n

I first got into crossfit because I needed something to challenge me in every way possible, physically and mentally.  I had a talk with my cousin Jeannie who is a crossfitter herself and is truly an inspiration to me and told her that I needed a challenge, you know, I needed something that would motivate me and keep me going.  Like many people I would go to the gym here and there and just stop going, so I decided to search for a Crossfit near me and discovered Crossfit Breed.   What I like about Crossfit Breed is the community that the coaches establish with the team, the fact that you establish relationships with one another and everyone is there to help one another.

  1. WHAT FITNESS PROGRAM WERE YOU DOING BEFORE CROSSFIT AND HOW DO THEY DIFFER

Before Crossfit, I attended a regular gym.  Crossfit differs to a regular gym in so many levels.  I would start going to the gym and would get on the treadmill to warm up and because I didn’t dare to get on weights or do anything else since I was either intimidated or I simply wasn’t too sure on how to use the equipment, my warm on the treadmill would become my only workout.  Crossfit took me to a whole other element, it literally made me more active, and it gave me confidence.

  1. HOW HAVE YOU CHANGED SINCE JOINING CF BREED

Crossfit has given me so much.  Physically I feel better about myself, I feel stronger and I feel genuine support from my coaches.  They have invested so much in me and they have led me to believe in myself and because of crossfit I have truly been able to believe in myself and motivate others.

  1. WHAT ADVICE CAN YOU GIVE TO NEW COMERS TO CROSSFIT

You have to be patient and persistent, and know that you are not competing with anyone but yourself.  You need to challenge yourself and have an open mind not limiting yourself.  You’re stronger than you think, remember, mind over matter.

“Never mind what others do; do better than yourself, beat your own record from day to day, and you are a success.” – William J. H. Boetchker

  1. WHY DO YOU LIKE TRAINING AT CROSSFIT BREED11024212_407765226067728_7309036319697853800_n

I like training at Crossfit Breed because I feel at home, I know that I have the support from my coaches and my teammates.  Whenever I’m pushing hard my coaches push me even harder and I trust them completely on that.

  1. DO YOU PLAY ANY SPORTS? WHICH?

I’m actually more into music, I sing at my church and I also write.  Crossfit has opened my mind to consider some sports like swimming and running.

  1. WHAT ARE YOUR FITNESS GOALS FOR 2015?

My fitness goals are to improve in flexibility and balance.  To perform better and even look better physically.  I want to continue getting out of my comfort zone as I challenge myself.

1.       FOR HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN CROSSFITTING

I first started crossfitting this past February. I had heard a lot about crossfit, good and bad things, so I decided to check it out for myself. Stumbled upon the Breed family, and the rest is history.

2.       WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WOD OR MOVEMENT AND  WHY

I don’t have a particular WOD that I enjoy most, because one of my favorite parts about crossfit is that everyday is different. However, my favorite movement has got to be the snatch.

3.       WHAT IS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE WOD OR MOVEMENT AND WHY

My least favorite movement has got to be thrusters. I don’t necessarily dislike them, but they are far far far far from my favorite.  I don’t really have a reason why, I just find it to be one of the most challenging of all the lifts.

4.       HOW DID YOU GET INTO CROSSFIT

I was looking for something that was going to replicate the intensity and variety I used to have in my workouts when I played hockey. I had heard a lot about crossfit, some good reviews , some bad reviews. I had just had my ACL, MCL, LCL, and meniscus repaired less than a year ago, so I was a little sceptacle about trying something that had a reputation of people getting injured. I still thought I should give it a shot for myself. I explored a few different boxes in the area until I found Crossfit Breed. Liz and Hutch were so welcoming to my questions of understanding the program and what they did everyday. After a little workout with Hutch one Sunday morning, I instantly felt comfortable and knew I should give this a whirl. I pretty much fell in love with crossfit after that.

5.       WHAT FITNESS PROGRAM  WERE YOU DOING BEFORE CROSSFIT AND HOW DO THEY DIFFER

After my surgery, I started back at the gym on a regular weight lifting and running routine. My first goal coming out was to run the Disney Pricess Half Marathon which took place this past February. I was running everyday. Although I really enjoyed it, I missed the strength training that I had done with playing hockey. The biggest difference I’ve found is that crossfit is just better for building your overall strength. It challenges your body in a different way every single work out, so you never feel like you’re falling into a routine.

6.       HOW HAVE YOU CHANGED SINCE JOINING CF BREED

photo_02

Well, I learned it is somehow possible to get your butt to gym 3 days a week at 5:30am. Drake had it right….0 to 100 real quick. But seriously, I have changed quite a bit since joining the Breed family. After having had quite a few sports related injuries in the past, I’ve been able to regain my confidence in my athletic abilities. Most of all, my patience. Although all the coaches (and all my fellow crossfitters) at Breed have helped me in so many ways, the one who has had to put up with my nonsense the most is Coach Prabesh. He has helped me to see that I’m so much stronger than my mind thinks I am, and sometimes I need to get out of my own way and not be afraid to throw that bar over my head.

7.       WHAT ADVICE CAN YOU GIVE TO NEW COMERS TO CROSSFIT

The best advice I can give to any newcomers is to never get discouraged or compare where you’re fitness levels is to anyone else. Everyone has a strengths and weaknesses to work on, even those who have qualified for the games. It’s just you against you. As they say, the last person to finish the WOD always has the loudest cheers.

8.       WHY DO YOU LIKE TRAINING AT CROSSFIT BREED

The community at Crossfit Breed is like family. Everyone there is excited everytime they walk in. No matter how long you’ve known someone, or if you see them regulary, you’re greeted like an old friend. During each WOD, if someone is struggling, the rest of the group will cheer them on to finish. It’s just an awesome environment to be apart of every single workout. I love this place.

9.       DO YOU PLAY ANY SPORTS? WHICH?

Hockey and softball

10.   WHAT ARE YOUR FITNESS GOALS FOR 2015?

Like most, my main fitness goal is to continue to lost weight/fat while gaining strength in all area of the crossfit. In the coming years I want to start coaching crossfit and qualify for the 2017 Crossfit Games.

1. FOR HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN CROSSFITTING -since October 2013

2. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WOD OR MOVEMENT AND WHY:
I don’t really have favorite wod or movement. I think every WOD that I fear the most that is the best for me.

3. WHAT IS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE WOD OR MOVEMENT AND WHY
Hmm… Snatches and overhead squats ….they really suck for me mostly because of my shoulder injury.

4. HOW DID YOU GET INTO CROSSFIT
I was passing by and I saw the sign, since then I knew that I will be joining the box.

5. WHAT FITNESS PROGRAM WERE YOU DOING BEFORE CROSSFIT AND HOW DO THEY DIFFER
I was runner and I was working out at the gym, but nothing was getting me where I wanted to be. I joined Crossfit simply because I was tired of not being in the shape.

6. HOW HAVE YOU CHANGED SINCE JOINING CF BREED
I always thought of myself as someone who was in shape but The first WOD I ever completed led me to think differently. Well, the next day I came back but it wasn’t easy. Every single muscle in my body ached, even muscles
which I didn’t know I had. Every step hurt but the best step I took that day was the one back inside that box. After a few months of CrossFit I can say that I am in the best shape of my life. My personal life changed as well, my husband is happy that I have a J.Lo butt, my son that his mom has big muscles and my daughter that my ADHD symptoms decreased LOL….

7. WHAT ADVICE CAN YOU GIVE TO NEW COMERS TO CROSSFIT
My advice to new comers would be to be patient and not afraid to try.

8. WHY DO YOU LIKE TRAINING AT CROSSFIT BREED11083842_1423461901282272_2957107492604816691_n
I don’t like it I LOVE it, training at Crossfit Breed is my second home.
I found the best coaches and friends there.

9. DO YOU PLAY ANY SPORTS? WHICH?
I like all sports but now my favorite one is Crossfit.

10. WHAT ARE YOUR FITNESS GOALS FOR 2015?
My goals are to be stronger and faster. Finally to get muscles ups !!!

FOR HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN CROSSFITTING

I first started Crossfit about two years ago back in Ireland and I loved it straight away. I was crossfitting in a box called Crossfit Limerick for about 3 months but then I moved to New York. Due to work commitments in NYC I was unable to keep on going but last winter I joined Crossfit Queens for another 2/3 month spell. I have been in Crossfit Breed now since January and I love it and hope to keep it going now for as long as possible.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WOD OR MOVEMENT AND  WHY

I really enjoy learning how to do all the Olympic lifts and then trying to improve my technique and hopefully get better at them

WHAT IS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE WOD OR MOVEMENT AND WHY

I don’t really have a least favorite movement but something that is frustrating me at the moment is the double unders I have been trying to get them for a while now but I just can’t seem to get it. Another movement that im having trouble with at the moment is the snatch but hopefully soon enough with the coaches help they will start becoming more natural to me.

HOW DID YOU GET INTO CROSSFIT

A friend back in Ireland suggested it to me so I tried it out with him and have been hooked ever since

WHAT FITNESS PROGRAM  WERE YOU DOING BEFORE CROSSFIT AND HOW DO THEY DIFFER

I was doing a lot of team sports such a Hurling (a traditional Irish sport, Ye should look it up on YouTube) and Rugby so most of my fitness was based around group training sessions etc.

HOW HAVE YOU CHANGED SINCE JOINING CF BREED

Physically I have gotten stronger and more flexible, I have also lost a bit of weight. I have a long way to go but so far im very happy with the progress that im making and I want to take this opportunity to thank Hutch and all the coaches for their help and great coaching.

WHAT ADVICE CAN YOU GIVE TO NEW COMERS TO CROSSFIT

My advice to New Comers would be to be patient at the start because I know myself, when I started I used to get frustrated as some of the movements are difficult to understand at the start but once the coaches help you to figure them out it gets much easier and its all uphill from there.

WHY DO YOU LIKE TRAINING AT CROSSFIT BREED

I like training here because it’s a great box, the coaches are great and they make you feel welcome from the first time you step inside the door. Also, there are a lot of motivated people up there who in turn motivate me to train harder.

DO YOU PLAY ANY SPORTS? WHICH?

Hurling and Rugby

WHAT ARE YOUR FITNESS GOALS FOR 2015?

Qualify  for the Crossfit Games 2016 and if that dose not work out just to continue to improve my fitness and health

  1. FOR HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN CROSSFITTING – It has been about 6 months.

  1. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WOD OR MOVEMENT AND WHY – I don’t know if I have a favorite or a least favorite Crossfit movement yet.  I view each new movement as a way to work on my weakness and challenge myself by proving that my body is capable of more than I ever dreamed.

  1. WHAT IS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE WOD OR MOVEMENT AND WHY – see # 2 response.

  1. HOW DID YOU GET INTO CROSSFIT – I started Crossfit because I needed to change my health situation.  One day, I saw a group ofCrossfit athletes running in the neighborhood and I noticed a couple of guys that were similar in size to me. Fast forward a couple of months, I’m struggling to make it up the small incline on Grove Street off of Fresh Pond Avenue and I see these same guys, but this time I noticed how muscular and trimmer they looked.  At that moment a part of me knew that this would change my life for the better. I visited the website and did some research; however, it still took almost 2 weeks to muster the courage to sign-up for a trial class.  Now, six months later,Crossfit has become a part of my life and I plan to keep it that way.

  1. WHAT FITNESS PROGRAM WERE YOU DOING BEFORE CROSSFIT AND HOW DO THEY DIFFER –   Over the years, I’ve done martial arts and joined numerous gyms, but got bored of the plain routines at the gym and repetitive strikes at a punching bag and seeing no results with weight loss. The difference is in the results; I’m amazed on how much I’ve transformed my body so far.

  1. HOW HAVE YOU CHANGED SINCE JOINING CF BREED – One thing I have learned is to stop thinking I can’t do something.  The support from the coaches and athletes at Crossfit Breed is amazing. They motivate me to get through every WOD and because of this I have become leaner and can now do movements (like box jumps) that I never thought for an instance would be possible.  For me,Crossfit isn’t about finishing a workout faster that the person next to you.  It’s more about beating the “you” from the previous workout instead.

  1. WHAT ADVICE CAN YOU GIVE TO NEW COMERS TO CROSSFIT – I would tell New Comers that Crossfit will give a boost in self confidence and it will make you realize that you are capable of more than you thought – both mentally and physically.

  1. WHY DO YOU LIKE TRAINING AT CROSSFIT BREED – I like having a great group of coaches and athletes to work with and encourage you moving forward.  The coaches are so motivating and knowledgeable, and they help you to keep focused on your goals.

  1. DO YOU PLAY ANY SPORTS? WHICH? I’ve been so obese that sporting activities have not been an option. However, I’ve decided to sign-up for a softball league sponsored by my employer this spring.  I’m confident that I’ll be at least 35 pounds thinner by spring.

  1. WHAT ARE YOUR FITNESS GOALS FOR 2015? Back in August 2014, I weighed 338 pounds. I’m proud to publicize that I’ve slimmed down to 295 pounds. However, the aim is to reach 200 pounds by December 2015 and then compete in a Spartan event in the spring of 2016.

1. FOR HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN CROSSFITTING: Since May 2014

2. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WOD OR MOVEMENT AND WHY:
• My Favorite WOD is Annie, its challenging and involves my two favorite exercises. I do this at home when I cannot make it to a Crossfit class.

3. WHAT IS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE WOD OR MOVEMENT AND WHY:
• I can’t say I have a least Favorite WOD or movement because I truly enjoy the challenge that all the WODs and movement bring. But if I really have to pick one, I’d say it would have to be the Clean and Jerk because I’m still traumatized from the day that the 95lb barbell with weights fell on my head and rolled down my face as I tried to Jerk it.

4. HOW DID YOU GET INTO CROSSFIT:
• I was looking for a new way to get into shape and wanted to prepare for the NYPD Academy. Crossfit was always something I wanted to try and when I saw there was a Crossfit gym just 2 blocks from my house I knew this was a sign for me to finally do it.

5. WHAT FITNESS PROGRAM WERE YOU DOING BEFORE CROSSFIT AND HOW DO THEY DIFFER:
• Before Crossfit I did boxing and I would go to the gym to run and work on the machines when I wasn’t training at the boxing gym. I can honestly say Crossfit is another breed of working out when compared to boxing. With boxing, I followed a specific weight training program for a month and then it would switch to another one, which got boring fast for me. Crossfit keeps me on my toes and curious as to what the WOD will be the next day and challenges me more than boxing because the workouts are never the same.

6. HOW HAVE YOU CHANGED SINCE JOINING CF BREED:
• Well I can say Crossfit has challenged me both physically and mentally. I have never been as physically and mentally strong as I am today and I owe it to CF Breed. It has taught me to have a more positive outlook on life. Being at CF Breed made me realize that if I can jump on a 26 inch box and cut and bruise my shins, drop a 95lbs bar on my head and let it roll down my face, hit my chin when attempting a strict press and still survive, I can conquer anything I put my mind too both at the box and in my personal life.

7. WHAT ADVICE CAN YOU GIVE TO NEW COMERS TO CROSSFIT:
• Exercise of the brain is as important as exercise of the muscles…In other words, prepare yourself mentally if you want to succeed at everything that Crossfit entails. Also, while having fun at the box, prepare for bruises and buy shin guards if you ever want to see your legs scar free again.

8. WHY DO YOU LIKE TRAINING AT CROSSFIT BREED:
• We are all kids on the inside and Crossfit Breed unleashes that kid and lets us be who we truly are. Thus, I can say I don’t like…I LOVE Training at Crossfit Breed. I love it because everyone makes you feel welcomed; it is like one big family. Everyone is friendly and will cheer you are when you are facing a challenging weight. Everyone makes you feel like a super star when you reach a PR…it’s a great feeling and who doesn’t like their ego fed once in a while. 

9. DO YOU PLAY ANY SPORTS? WHICH?
• I’m a solo sport person, I don’t like to feel like I let my team down so I box and run.

10. WHAT ARE YOUR FITNESS GOALS FOR 2014?
• To lose the last 15lbs I have been trying to lose for 4 years now and now that I started doing Crossfit, my other goals are to become really lean and strong.

JOSE MARTINEZ

“One of the strongest athletes at the box, Jos”Aye” Deadlifts over 400# and Squats over 300#, but he doesn’t stop there.  He is constantly working on getting better.  Walk in the box on any giving day and you will see Jose working on double unders, toes 2 bar or maybe trying to get his 1st muscle up.  I select Jose for the Athlete of the Month because of his motivation, his energy and his competitive nature.  He’s always quoting Ronnie Coleman and CT Fletcher (two HUGE muscle heads) saying, “You better grow m*therf*cker” or “Light weight babyyyyyy.”, these words motivate him and others around him.     He always checks the whiteboard to see what other athletes are lifting or how fast they finish the WOD and he tries to beat everybody, doesn’t always happen but his heart is always up for the challenge and he gives his all.  His ultimate goal is to beat Rich Froning, I don’t doubt that he will keep trying.  Good Luck!”  -Coach Hutch

1.      FOR HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN CROSSFITTING
–      I have been CrossFitting for 7 month
2.      WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WOD OR MOVEMENT AND  WHY
–       I love the Dead lift, its one movement that came easy to me.
3.      WHAT IS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE WOD OR MOVEMENT AND WHY
–       My least favorite movement is the kettlebell swing, for some reason it takes everything out me. Box jumps are not far behind, they are my second least movement.  It’s tough being short.
4.      HOW DID YOU GET INTO CROSSFIT
–       My wife has a few friends who CrossFit at various boxes, she had been trying to convince me to try it out for a long time.  One day I was walking home and seen that Breed had opened around the corner from my house, it had to be faith. I signed up the next day.
5.      WHAT FITNESS PROGRAM  WERE YOU DOING BEFORE CROSSFIT AND HOW DO THEY DIFFER
–       I was doing the typical back and bicep, chest and triceps at the gym. Trying to “GET BIG”. Now with CrossFit, it’s about fitness. Becoming a better ME.
6.      HOW HAVE YOU CHANGED SINCE JOINING CF BREED
–       I eat better now. I challenge myself a lot more. I was never one to take advice when it came to fitness. I thought I knew it all. You become a lot more humble the first time you do a snatch or clean.

7.      WHAT ADVICE CAN YOU GIVE TO NEW COMERS TO CROSSFIT
–       I would say don’t rush to lift heavy and don’t get discouraged. The movements can be difficult to learn but you will get used to it. Coach told me the weight will come when you get the movements down.
8.      WHY DO YOU LIKE TRAINING AT CROSSFIT BREED
–       The family atmosphere is what keeps me going. Everyone wants to see you succeed. I remember one of the first WODs I did, I was the last one to finish. As I was getting my last reps in everyone was clapping and cheering me on, it got me through it. Another reason is the coaching.
9.      DO YOU PLAY ANY SPORTS? WHICH?josebiking
–       I love all sports. My favorite is cycling.
