- FOR HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN CROSSFITTING
I’ve been Crossfitting for 6 months now.
- WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WOD OR MOVEMENT AND WHY
Although I do enjoy all WODs because they work out every part of the body, I would have to say Cindy because it is the type of workout that consists of calisthenics. You are pushing yourself consistently and know that you have to max out and have to give it your all and not give in.
- WHAT IS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE WOD OR MOVEMENT AND WHY
I would say that the most challenging movement for me is the deadlift. The deadlift is a type of workout that requires good form. I’m very well aware that I have to work on my form because of some weakness in my lower back. Slowly but surely I am strengthening my lower back muscles in order to master the deadlift.
I first got into crossfit because I needed something to challenge me in every way possible, physically and mentally. I had a talk with my cousin Jeannie who is a crossfitter herself and is truly an inspiration to me and told her that I needed a challenge, you know, I needed something that would motivate me and keep me going. Like many people I would go to the gym here and there and just stop going, so I decided to search for a Crossfit near me and discovered Crossfit Breed. What I like about Crossfit Breed is the community that the coaches establish with the team, the fact that you establish relationships with one another and everyone is there to help one another.
- WHAT FITNESS PROGRAM WERE YOU DOING BEFORE CROSSFIT AND HOW DO THEY DIFFER
Before Crossfit, I attended a regular gym. Crossfit differs to a regular gym in so many levels. I would start going to the gym and would get on the treadmill to warm up and because I didn’t dare to get on weights or do anything else since I was either intimidated or I simply wasn’t too sure on how to use the equipment, my warm on the treadmill would become my only workout. Crossfit took me to a whole other element, it literally made me more active, and it gave me confidence.
- HOW HAVE YOU CHANGED SINCE JOINING CF BREED
Crossfit has given me so much. Physically I feel better about myself, I feel stronger and I feel genuine support from my coaches. They have invested so much in me and they have led me to believe in myself and because of crossfit I have truly been able to believe in myself and motivate others.
- WHAT ADVICE CAN YOU GIVE TO NEW COMERS TO CROSSFIT
You have to be patient and persistent, and know that you are not competing with anyone but yourself. You need to challenge yourself and have an open mind not limiting yourself. You’re stronger than you think, remember, mind over matter.

I like training at Crossfit Breed because I feel at home, I know that I have the support from my coaches and my teammates. Whenever I’m pushing hard my coaches push me even harder and I trust them completely on that.
- DO YOU PLAY ANY SPORTS? WHICH?
I’m actually more into music, I sing at my church and I also write. Crossfit has opened my mind to consider some sports like swimming and running.
- WHAT ARE YOUR FITNESS GOALS FOR 2015?
My fitness goals are to improve in flexibility and balance. To perform better and even look better physically. I want to continue getting out of my comfort zone as I challenge myself.
